Rotary!

Last night was my first of many Rotary meetings. My club meets every Wednesday and the Rotarians are all awesome, I still can´t get over how nice everyone is. The meeting like everything else was all in Spanish but I could understand the general theme of what was going on. We had a guest Rotarian from Brazil who was there I think to promote the two clubs/Peru and Brazil working together on projects, etc. Jajaja Scott and Dallas, I just want to thank you for my gift, I´ve been bad about keeping up so I did yesterday and I love it, it makes me laugh. What else...Yesterday I went to the Catholic University that two of my sisters attend, I think I will actually be going there instead of high school which is good because it will be kids more around my age. I think I even get to study pre-med if I want. It is going to be pretty cool because my dad, brother and sister are all doctors and my mom´s a nurse so I will get to spend some time in a hospital and see what I think. My dad is a surgeon and so he said I can even watch some surgeries if I want - how cool. After the U, Lucía, Marita and I went to this museum of Ancient Incan artifacts. It was incredible. An archeologist discovered an Incan sacrificing site on the top of a mountain when a volcano next to the mountain blew and melted the snow cap. Once the ground was exposed he discovered a body of a girl, Juanita as they call her and she is very famous because all of her organs, skin, hair, etc. are still in great condition because she was just frozen, not mummified. I got to see her, they actually have the body there and then all the artifacts that were buried next to her and other bodies that they found on other mountain tops, all were given as offerings to please the Incan mountain gods. It was all amazing, these artifacts had beautiful colors and details. They had only been cleaned, not restored but they looked good as new even though they were 500 years old and found at up to 21,000 feet. There were intricate carvings of people, llamas, alpacas and vicuñas in gold, silver and copper. Cloth of the finest alpaca and vicuña wool woven with amazing patterns. The two main colors were red and white because they showed nobility status. It´s hard to explain, I´m not a big museum fan but this stuff was just incredible - we were given a tour in English, jaja for me, how kind. After the museum we came back home and ate with our parents and then later Lucía took me to a movie in English with Spanish subtitles. It was cute, really funny. After that a couple Rotarians picked me up and I got home pretty late and that was basically my whole day.Today I think I´m going to another museum and then I´m going out with my sister and some of her friends tonight - I´ll get to meet some other exchagers too I think!Hope all is well with everyone in the states. Love you!
